Yahweh's Holy Feast Days
God's Appointed Feast Days

God has provided his people with holy feast days to be observed in their appointed times. The House of
God Community Ministries recognizes these feast days and the ordinances that are placed upon them. The
feast days are memorials proclaimed by God to be observed by his people. They are given by the LORD for
his people to remember his mighty and wondrous works. (Leviticus 23:1-44) These appointed Sabbaths are
a sign between God and his people and a sign that sets the believer apart from the world.

We believe these feast days were not only historical or cultural celebrations, but were given to the Church
to be observed in commemoration of the acts of Christ and reveals God's plan for humanity. They are by no
means substitutions for the atoning death and resurrection of Christ which is received through the
confession and repentance from our sins. (Rom 10:9)

The feast days are listed below:

Sabbath       Passover      Pentecost        The Feast of Trumpets

The Day of Atonement     The Feast of Tabernacles

Sabbath

The seventh day, which is the Sabbath, is a memorial of God's creation of heaven and earth. (Genesis
2:1-3) God has sanctified and hallowed the Sabbath day and has given this day to mankind as a day of rest
(Exodus 20:8-11). Jesus and his disciples kept the Sabbath.

Passover (Abib 14) and Feast of Unleavened Bread (Abib 15)

The Passover commemorates the sparing of the first born of Israel, by God, from the judgment of the Lord
that killed the first born of the Egyptians on the night of Abib 14. The lamb killed on that night was a type of
Christ. Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us. (Exodus 12:1-15;). The Feast of Unleavened Bread
which is celebrated on Abib 15 commemorates the marching of the children of Israel out of Egypt by night.
(Exodus 12:14-18; Numbers 33:1-3; Ezek 45:21)

The blood of the Lamb foreshadowed the shedding of Christ's blood as the sacrificial lamb for the
redemption of mankind as noted in 1 Corinthians 5:7 For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Pentecost (Sivan 6)

The feast of Pentecost celebrates the giving of the Holy Spirit to the new testament Church and the
harvesting of human souls. (Leviticus 23:17-21; John 14:16-18, Acts 2, I Cor 15:20.)

The Feast of Trumpets (Ethanim 1)

The Feast of Trumpets is a memorial of the call to God's people to gather together, and points to the return
of Christ to establish His kingdom in the earth. (Leviticus 23:24-25; I Corinthians 15:52; I Thess 4:16-17)

The Day of Atonement (Ethanim 10)

It is the day that we celebrate the atoning blood for our sins. We celebrate this day because we have
received the final sacrifice for sins through Jesus Christ. We are commanded on this day to afflict our souls
by fasting, and do so in humble recognition of our need for God. (Leviticus 23:26-32; Romans 5:1-11; Acts
27:9).

The Feast of Tabernacles (Ethanim 15-Ethanim 22)

The Feast of Tabernacles concludes the feasts of the seventh month. It was given to commemorate the
children of Israel dwelling in temporary booths while in the wilderness (Leviticus 23:39-43). We reflect on the
temporality of our mortal bodies and the hope of the promised immortality to come to believers in Christ (I
Cor 15:51-54; John 7:1-14, 37-38).
